USA adventures...part three

After leaving Montana, I headed west through some of the most stunningly beautiful parts of Washington State (with the most fantastic rain clouds I have seen since leaving China!), past Seattle and into the Olympic Peninsular. There I drove through Port Angeles and into Forks, of Twilight fame, a quaint little town very much reliant on the books' fame but full of hidden gems and interesting people. Then I hiked a trail I have long wanted to visit, the Hoh River Rainforest Trail, full of stunning forests covered in moss, and little beasties that popped up to greet me. Ending my trip in Seattle was a little disappointing after all that wildlife (though I did spend a day shopping in The Elliot Bay Book Company, where I returned with many a read!! All in all, an excellent trip!

I don't know why but I love squirrels and can't get enough of photos of them! The Hoh River Rainforest looks amazing.

Just looking through all your pictures... you had quite the adventure. I have NEVER attempted to drive as far as you did, and that is quite impressive. You were by yourself, correct? Double wow.

It looks like you got to see quite a few beautiful places! How exciting :-)

Nymeth - Thanks!

Melody - I could have gone on for hours!

Rhinoa - There is something adorable and mischevious about squirrels!

Kim - I was on my own and sometimes the driving was a challenge, but it was so worth it!

Christina - Thanks. It took me ages to get that picture! I could hear the hummingbird buzzing around, but it rarely sat still for more than a few seconds! Quite pleased with the result. :)

What wonderful adventures. If the photos are anything to go by then you've seen some true beauty over the course of your journey. I'm so thrilled for you.

stumbled upon this and glad I did! Love the pictures and was interested to see you're reading Bryson's "Shakespeare." Do tell about it (or maybe you have already? I've only read this one entry so far.)

Happy summer!

westcobich - welcome! Thanks, I was really pleased with my new camera. I shall review Bryson's Shakespeare soon, reading it for the second time and really enjoying it.
