So, I've been away from my blog a bit longer than planned! After three wonderful weeks in the states (which I will post all about later) I've come back to a very busy office and a summer full of fun events! Last night I went to a performance of Twelfth Night by the all-male The Lord Chamberlain's Men in the grounds of the beautiful Blickling Hall (I shall hopefully post some photos later this week). It was a little chillier and a lot wetter than all of us were hoping, but the play was so funny that we soon forgot all about it. Not to mention the fabulous picnic that we packed along with our garden chairs and bottles of wine! I'm looking forward to a glorious summer of theatre, once this blasted rain has passed!
Meanwhile, I have completed the Once Upon a Time Challenge, despite being horridly behind on my reviews. For this challenge I read 6 books that fit within at least one of the four categories:
My Swordhand is Singing - Marcus Sedgewick (fantasy, folklore)
Inkspell - Cornelia Funke (fantasy, fairy tale)
Inkdeath - Cornelia Funke (fantasy, folklore)
The Master and the Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov (fantasy)
The Black Tattoo - Sam Enthoven (fantasy)
Puppet Master - Joanne Owen (folklore)
I shall post short reviews of these shortly, and all the other books I have read over the last couple of months.

Welcome back! I was wondering what had happened to you:P
watching a funny play while having picnic and drinking wine in good company sounds heaven to me. Pity about the rain!
Welcome back!! "Twelfth Night" sounds like fun! Can't wait to see your thoughts on Bulgakov.
Welcome back, Mariel! It sounds like you had a great time and I can't wait to hear all about it. Although I am not a big fan of Shakespeare, I think it would be fun to see one of his plays performed in person. I bet that is quite an experience.
Congratulations on finishing the Once Upon a Time Challenge!
I hope you have a great week.
Welcome back! Looking forward to hearing about your trip and all the books you have read!
I really hope you liked My Swordhand is Sinigng and The Black Tattoo, I really want to read Puppet Master at some point. Glad you made it back to blogland :)
*waves* welcome back :D It's great to see you posting again.
A picnic following a playing of Twelfth Night? That sounds like the epitome a nice relaxing summer!
Valentina - Thanks, there just never seems enough time, but I am still keeping an eye on everyones blogs!
Eva - Bulgakov was certainly interesting!
Literary feline - Thanks. I think the key to enjoying shakespeare is seeing the right play on stage, in the way that it was intended. I cant get enough!
Kailana - Thanks, I'll post about it soon.
Rhinoa - Both great recommendations, thanks very much!
Nymeth - Is is the end of June already!?
xalwaysdreamx - Absolutely perfect, I can highly recommend it! Thanks for stopping by.
WElcome back, Mariel! where did you go? It sounds wonderful, can hardly wait to see your photos! And congratulations on finishing the OUaT3 challenge. I didn't do everything I wanted to do.
