The next installment in the Looking Glass Wars trilogy is a very different type of novel, with a slower pace but with more intricate and perhaps more adult subplots. Alyss is rebuilding Wonderland after the battle against her aunt, the dastardly former Queen, Redd, who returns intent on revenge.
Introducing several new characters (the best being the assassins Blister and Ripkins) and another plot involving our "real" world, the story is a little disjointed, but enjoyable nonetheless. My favourite characters are still Hatter Madigan and the Cat, but the plot development is interesting enough, and it does leave the reader in anticipation of the final chapter in the series!
Not as good as the first in the series, but how many sequels are?!

See I really liked this one as well, it gave Beddor a chance to show his writing without having to live up to the original Alice tale. I hope the third one is finnished soon... Thanks for recommending this series to me.
